Sustines Laplana is known for being one of the pioneers of Philippine blogging even if he's not. It is because many new bloggers found his blog and were being inspired by his success. One of his apprentice in blogging is his wife, Junith Malot Laplana.

Junith Malot Laplana came from Hinunangan, Southern Leyte. She was married with Sustines on June 20, 2008. She is a professional Elementary Teacher with PRC License but is currently working as full-time housewife.

Sustines Laplana is an Electrical Engineering graduate from the Leyte Institute of Technology in Tacloban City which is now known as Eastern Visayas State University but he chose to be unemployed because in that status, he can freely do anything what he want including making money online by blogging.

He called himself, the Southern Leyte blogger and emarketer. He has many blogs but his main blog is found at the selaplana.com. He called this blog, his Make Money Online Southern Leyte blog.

He claims that he is the first pinoy blogger in Maasin City or in Southern Leyte and that blogging has financed all his spending including his family's expenses.
